Tim Morgon at the Prison of Socrates, Balboa, California

Dear Kevin Kidney and other fans of Tim Morgon and the Prison of Socrates in Balboa, California....

This is to announce that we will be including a few clips from the movie that Tim Morgon made for Argo Films in 1965 at You Tube; it will go up sometime today, May 29, 2008. My brother and I and Theodore "Ted" Nikas, one of three Nikas brothers who once owned the Prison of Socrates, worked on the transfer of "Dirty Feet" for nearly four years and for a couple of years we sold copies at Ebay, but we have few left so are holding on to what we have (one can get a copy from Brian Chidester or by simply calling or going to the Balboa Pharmacy in Balboa, California. I think they are selling them for $10.00 each, but you will have to ask the owners or contact Brian Chidester on-line at his blog that he shares with Dominic Priore. Anyway, I hope you will all enjoy the clips at You Tube, and if you are interested in knowing more about Tim Morgon, he has a page at CDBaby at www.timmorgon.com. His old folk albums are available now on CD.

Kevin...if you would like to know more you can email me.

Peace out....

Nick Campbell

Hi Nick! I can't believe it took me nearly five years to discover this blog post. Thanks so much for all the hard work you guys have done to preserve the memories of a special time in Southern California history. Today I met friends for drinks at BJ's Pizza in Balboa and spent a lot of time looking around the room and imagining what the Prison of Socrates must've been like. We tried to imagine the eastern interior wall as it looked with David Renaker's marvelous mural of the death of Socrates, and all the wonderful music that had been performed there. This August marks the 50th anniversary of the recording of Tim Morgon's first album, and we are planning something special!

Hello, I stumbled across this looking for contact info for Tim Morgon and David Renaker.
